Service Description
Gua sha is an ancient Chinese therapy that involves gently scraping the skin with a specialized tool to promote better blood circulation and overall health. This technique is based on the idea of clearing stagnant energy, known as chi, which practitioners believe may cause inflammation in the body. Since inflammation is often linked to chronic pain, gua sha aims to break up this stagnant energy, reducing pain and encouraging healing. For example, research has shown that gua sha may help reduce chronic liver inflammation in people with hepatitis B, which causes liver damage and scarring. Additionally, gua sha has been suggested as a potential remedy for migraine headaches, particularly when regular over-the-counter medications are ineffective. A study also highlighted that women who received gua sha treatment after childbirth experienced less breast engorgement and discomfort, making it easier for them to breastfeed. Moreover, gua sha has been found to be useful in relieving chronic neck pain, further showcasing its versatility as a therapeutic approach.
